Participants will gain an introduction to batik and will create a project at the end of this three part series. This type of textile art has been practiced in Africa, Asia and other parts of the world and is easily recognized with its unique textural features. Yet, you do not need to have prior experience nor do you need to be an artist to participate! We will be using natural fabrics, melted wax, natural dyes, tools and instruments I have acquired over my years of global travel. Not only will participants take home a batik they will have made, but they will be part of a group exhibition at RBA Creative displaying their lovely creations! The opening will be June 9th from 5pm to 8pm.
