This privacy policy sets out how Homestead Apothecary uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website. Homestead Apothecary is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. This policy is effective from June 1st 2014.

What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you place an order or subscribe to our newsletter. When ordering or registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information.

What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

– To process transactions
Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
– To send periodic emails
The email address you provide is primarily used for order processing. For example. We will send you information and updates pertaining to your order. Although we don’t currently automatically enroll you in our email newsletter we reserve the right to do so in the future.

Note: If we do begin auto enrollment, and you  would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, our newsletter service provider, MailChimp includes detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect your information?
We use Paypal as our merchant service provider as they offer the use of a secure server. They have implemented a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information. We have no access to your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.).

Do we use cookies?
No but Paypal may. (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.

Many businesses use cookies to help remember and process the items in your shopping cart and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that they can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, many services may not function properly.

However, we reserve the right to use cookies in the future. You can always place orders by contacting us through the contact page on our website.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential, for example, Paypal or USPS. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets, subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. If we are acquired by or merged with any other entity, then we reserve the right to assign or transfer all information that we have collected; and, for any bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or for any application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights, your information might be transferred or disclosed to third parties.

This online privacy policy applies only to information collected through our website and not to information collected offline. By using our site, you consent to our online privacy policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page.
