Learn how to cultivate medicinal plants that thrive in the Bay Area, and find out what you can make with them! Plan your medicinal plantings for the season, and learn about growing conditions, harvest times, and which parts of the plants to use. We will focus on plants that you can use to make simple healing salves, like comfrey, yarrow and calendula, and plants that do well in pestos, like nettles. Yummm! Each of these plants are commonly grown in this region, are useful in the garden and in the medicine chest. We will cover proper growing conditions, parts of the plants used for remedies, and how to harvest. Come get your hands on the plants and deepen your understanding of these delightful herbal allies!
